SELFHABITAT CULTURE

From a rib of Selfhabitat was born a voluntary and non-profit association - Selfhabitat Culture - whose mission is to organize conferences, lectures, exhibitions and events trying to involve an increasing number of admirers.

In addition to the experts, scholars, designers and enthusiasts who have joined the initiative and lent their expertise, the number of those who have followed the themed events offered by the scientific committee has grown year after year. The support for the project by Vanni Pasca, president of the Italian Association of Design Historians, and the support of Adi Toscana, Isia, Ied and Design Campus of the University of Florence, made it possible to aim for results that immediately attracted interest at an institutional level.

The Municipality of Florence in primis and numerous people of different backgrounds, including designers, university professors, entrepreneurs, writers, museum curators have confirmed their interest in a relatively new activity for a city like Florence, which has almost always turned to the past and is perceived as not always caring about current events.

The foundation of SelfhabitatCultura, therefore, was the first and most natural step that allowed us to welcome within it all those who would recognize themselves in the founding purposes, who would share the interests and the desire to give back to the city a key issue in the perspective of its future development, and to allow also young designers to find an authoritative shore with which to confront themselves. The foundation of SelfhabitatCultura, therefore, was and still is the first and most natural step that allows it to welcome within itself all those who recognize themselves in the founding purposes, who share the interests and the desire to return to the city a theme felt as a priority in the perspective of its future development and to allow young designers to find an authoritative bank with which to confront themselves by welcoming the cultural heritage of Vanni Pasca. It is, in any case, a way to continue a journey, already rich in results, following a more "structured" path, without losing sight of the playful and exciting part that has been an irreplaceable link until now.
